ACTIVITIES GUIDE - HIKING
From Easy Walks to Tough Treks
Easy to Moderate || Est. time: 15 min to 2 hours
Dubbed the “Niagara of Pennsylvania,” Bushkill Falls may not match the grandeur of its namesake, but it offers a stunning and accessible hike through a series of eight cascading waterfalls.
With four well-marked trails ranging from easy 15-minute strolls to more challenging 2-hour hikes, it’s a great way to experience the beauty of the Poconos at your own pace.
Note: There is an admission fee to enter.
Mt. Tammany Red Dot Trail & Blue Dot Loop (25 min. drive)
Hard || 3.6 mile loop || Est. time: 3.5 hrs
Challenging hiking trail with steep rock scrambles and payoff views of the Delaware River. It’s recommended to take the Red Dot trail up and the Blue Dot trail back down. Arrive early to ensure parking.
Tom’s Creek Trailhead (18 min. drive)
Easy || 2 miles out and back || Est. time: 1 hr
Peaceful forest hike along a scenic stream, with gentle terrain that’s great for all ages. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing nature walk.
Marshalls Falls (15 min. drive)
Easy || Est time: 30 minutes
A beautiful 20 ft waterfall, accessible by a well maintained boardwalk and walkway. A fee of $10/person typically collected on weekends; weekday visits often go unmonitored.
Hidden Lake (13 min. drive)
Easy || 2 miles out and back || Est. time: 1 hr
Flat trail great for a short walk, birdwatching, or a quiet moment by the water. Also, a popular area for fishing.
Sunfish Pond via Appalachian Trail (25 min. drive)
Moderate || 7.6 miles out and back || Est time: 4 hrs
Forested terrain and rocky paths along the Appalachian Trail at Worthington State Forest, leading to Sunfish Pond.

Our Warm Weather Favorites!
Delaware Water Gap (17 min. drive)
Go tubing, kayaking, rafting or canoeing on a slow but long stretch of water down the Delaware Water Gap. Fun for the whole family!
Our recommendation:
Book a rental reservation with Chamberlain Canoes*. When you arrive at their facility, they will drive you to their boat launch. Getting down the water gap can take anywhere from 2 hours (canoeing, kayaking, raft) to 4-5 hours (tubing). Chamberlain will have a bus ready to pick you up at the end of your trip and drive you back to their facility. Pack a lunch + drinks. (If you go tubing they will provide a tube for your cooler!)
River tours are also available from Adventure Sports and Shawnee River Trips.
Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark (35 min. drive)
Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor waterpark featuring over 35 slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and family attractions.
Kalahari Resort is a massive indoor and outdoor waterpark, as well as spa, arcade, mini-golf, zip lining, and restaurants. Indoor waterpark is open all year round.

Camelback is one of the Poconos’ most popular winter destinations — offering 39 trails, 16 lifts, and one of the largest snow tubing parks on the East Coast. From wide beginner slopes to more challenging runs, it’s a great option for both first-timers and seasoned skiers looking for variety and excitement.
Beyond the slopes, Camelback features indoor and outdoor dining, après-ski lounges, and family-friendly activities, making it easy to spend a full day on the mountain.
